Mariachi
Vargas de Tecalitlán, was founded by Gaspar
Vargas and Manuel Mendoza in the late 1800's. They became
widely known for the "tecalitan" sound in the
1920's through 40's, and were very popular.
They
are considered one of the finest mariachi groups in the
world today, their sound helping to define mariachi. They
embody the traditional tribute to nature, a strong sense
of history, and are full of all the romance and passion
of Mexico.

Mariachi
Mujer 2000 is directed and lead by women, unlike many
other all-female mariachi groups. They desire to show that
women in mariachi music can successfully arrange and perform
some of the most challenging mariachi selections. The women
in this show group are highly skilled vocalists and instrumentalists.

Mariachi
México de Pepe Villa made their radio debut
in 1953, after forming in 1948. The group introduced the
modern sound of a second trumpet to mariachi music.
This
group has played in more than one hundred films, and has
recorded 115 records. Though Pepe Villa, the founding director,
died in 1986 at the age of 71, the group has continued with
it's proud tradition under the direction of Pepe Villa,
Jr.
